What you'll love about this property

I welcome you to La Ferme du Hamel, my large 178 m² gîte rated 4 épis, ideal for getting together with family or friends, 10 minutes from Caen and 7 km from the sea. The gîte can accommodate up to 10 people in 5 bedrooms: 1 on the ground floor with its own private bathroom and toilet, and 4 bedrooms upstairs with a landing fitted with a sofa bed. You will find a large living area with a lounge space (2 sofas, TV, wood-burning stove), a kitchen area with a breakfast bar, a laundry room with a washing machine and a tumble dryer, as well as 2 additional bathrooms and 2 additional toilets. You will appreciate the modern décor, the high-quality bedding and the overall comfort of the house. Outside, you can enjoy a 300 m² space with a wooden terrace, 2 picnic tables, a barbecue and an electric gate to keep your vehicles secure. Wi-Fi, electric central heating, baby amenities.

What you'll love about the area

My gîte is ideally located in Mathieu, in the Calvados, 10 minutes from Caen and 7 km from the sea. You are perfectly placed to discover the historic centre of Caen with its Château de Guillaume le Conquérant, the Mémorial to understand the history of the Second World War, the Abbaye aux Hommes and the Abbaye aux Dames. On the coast, the fine sandy beaches of the Côte de Nacre await you: Luc-sur-Mer, Lion-sur-Mer and Courseulles-sur-Mer are just a few minutes away. You will also discover the famous D-Day landing beaches: Juno Beach and its centre, Omaha Beach and the memorial cemeteries. During the 6 June commemorations, you may be lucky enough to see vintage vehicles passing through Mathieu. Nearby: shops 500 m away, doctor 500 m away, hiking trails on site, golf 3 km away, horse riding 3 km away, sailing 7 km away. A perfect location between nature, heritage and the seaside.
