In the heart of the Manche, between Coutances and Saint-Lô, the 3-star gîte La Clef des Champs opens its doors to you in a Norman stone building. Ideally located 17 km from the beaches, it is a perfect starting point for discovering the Manche. This spacious country gîte sleeps up to 6 people in 3 comfortable bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. A large, bright living area with a fully equipped kitchen opens onto the private gardens, where peace and quiet reign. The outdoor spaces are a real asset, with private gardens, garden furniture for eating outdoors, a barbecue, a children's play area and a pétanque court nearby. Walking trails start right from the gîte. Utilities are included in the price: gas, water and electricity. Baby amenities. An authentic stone gîte for a restorative stay between the hedged farmland and the Manche coastline. Our animal friends are not allowed. Prefectural classification***.
What you'll love about the area
The gîte is ideally located for exploring the whole of the Manche. The famous Mont-Saint-Michel (1h), a UNESCO-listed wonder, is within reach for a day trip. The D-Day landing beaches and museums offer a journey through history. Granville charms with its harbour, its fortified upper town and the Dior museum in the gardens overlooking the sea. Villedieu-les-Poêles, the copper town, invites you to discover a centuries-old craft. Coutances and its Gothic cathedral are 14km away. Cerisy-la-Salle and all its local shops are just 2 km away. Walking trails start right from the gîte for lovely hikes through the hedged farmland. The nearby river offers fishing in green surroundings (no swimming). A day trip to the Channel Islands of Chausey, Jersey or Guernsey from Granville will delight young and old alike. With its heritage, nature, beaches and gastronomy, the Manche offers a rich and varied stay.
