Aste-Béon, in the heart of the Ossau valley: an authentic mountain village in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, between Pau and the Spanish border. Unspoilt nature in the Pyrenees National Park for mountain stays in every season.
Hiking in the Pyrenees National Park: GR10 trails for all levels, high-altitude lakes (Artouste, Ayous with a view of the Pic du Midi Ossau),
wild valleys with protected wildlife (Pyrenean chamois, marmots, vultures). The mountains in summer are a hikers' paradise.
Pic du Midi d'Ossau 2884m: an emblematic Pyrenean peak nicknamed Jean-Pierre. Guided ascents, exceptional panoramas over mountain cirques.
Mountain activities: downhill mountain biking, via ferrata, climbing, canyoning, trout fishing in mountain streams, paragliding. Electric bike hire to discover the valley, and trail running
Béarn cuisine: garbure mountain soup, sheep's, cow's and goat's cheese. Farmers' markets with local produce.
