Welcome to La Maison des Hobbits, my quirky air-conditioned gîte, where charm and simplicity come together in a playful, one-of-a-kind layout. This lovely house, a beautifully renovated former cowshed, has kept all its authenticity thanks to its little doors (between 1.60 m and 1.90 m high) and its rooms, each reached separately from the terrace. This unusual layout creates a unique experience and a strong sense of outdoor living, as if each space were its own little world, intimate and slightly adventurous. Inside, you'll find everything you need to be comfortable: a cosy living room with a smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen and a pleasant bedroom. Fully air-conditioned for your comfort whatever the season The terrace is the heart of the gîte, a comfortable spot surrounded by greenery, with a Weber barbecue, garden furniture and a pétanque court. A true haven of peace in the heart of my 17-hectare estate!

What you'll love about the area

My estate is located in Eyvirat, about 10 minutes from picturesque Brantôme, nicknamed the « Venice of the Périgord » for its thousand-year-old Benedictine abbey set on the Dronne. You are in the heart of the Périgord Vert, an unspoilt area of the Dordogne, far from mass tourism, in green and peaceful surroundings. You are staying on a 17-hectare estate with its own private forest, ideal for walks and for watching birds and squirrels. To discover nearby: the Abbaye de Brantôme and its troglodyte caves, the Grottes de Villars and their prehistoric paintings, the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, the Musée de la Truffe in Sorges, and La Roque Saint-Christophe. Nature lovers will enjoy the Dronne and its swimming spots, cycling on the Flow Vélo, and the most beautiful villages of the Périgord. As for food, savour black truffle, foie gras, ceps, Périgord walnuts and Bergerac wines. A perfect location for combining nature and Périgord gastronomy.
