Located in the Ariège, deep in the countryside between Pamiers and Foix, the gîte « ADI SHAKTI » sleeps 8 people. With a total floor area of 65m2 and its own private entrance, it has a 25 m2 dining room with a kitchenette (equipped with a microwave, a small electric oven, a fridge, 2 gas burners, a filter coffee maker and an electric kettle), 2 bedrooms of 12m2 each with 4 bunk beds, 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets. For group retreats, a 50 m² practice room upstairs can be hired at an extra cost: ideal for yoga, meditation or workshops. No television or Wifi. Bed linen, blankets, towels and table linen are not provided.
What you'll love about the area
The gîte is set deep in the countryside, at an altitude of 600 m, in a former farmhouse. The nearest shops are 10 mn away by car, in Varilhes.
Foix and its counts' castle, the Labouiche underground river, which you can explore by boat, and the Mas-d'Azil cave are all close by. Mirepoix and its medieval bastide with covered arcades are well worth a detour.
Cathar country unfolds its castles, starting with Montségur. The Niaux cave and the Parc de la Préhistoire in Tarascon take you deep into prehistory.
Hiking, the lac de Montbel and the Ariège Pyrenees set the pace for outdoor stays.
Ariège local produce, with azinat, Bethmale cheese, croustade and hypocras.
