What you'll love about this property
La Passerelle du Moulin, a gîte in Grandrif, a mid-mountain village 11 km east of Ambert, in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park.
The Moulin de la Passerelle is worth a visit in its own right: a group of 5 mills that has stood for 400 years, for flour, oil and even pins, which Christine will be delighted to tell you all about. The gîte is recognised by the VALEURS PARCS label.
It has a living room with a 2-person sofa and a mezzanine for 1 person, a fully equipped kitchen (fridge with freezer compartment, induction cooker, dishwasher, crockery), a dining area, a shower room and a separate toilet.
The terrace overlooks the river, which can be very chatty at times. And at the end of the footbridge, the bedroom for 2 people is tucked away above the flour mill.

What you'll love about the area
Grandrif is a mid-mountain village in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park, in the Puy-de-Dôme.
Go hiking in every season around the village and in the mountains: col des Pradeaux, the dam, the sparkling Jarpe spring.
Ambert, listed among the 100 Plus Beaux Détours de France, is worth visiting for its fourme cheese, its round town hall, its lake and leisure centre, as well as Mus'Énergies, the Musée de la Fourme, the École 1900, the Moulin papetier Richard de Bas paper mill and the Chemin des Papetiers. The Agrivap train to La Chaise-Dieu and the rail bike round off the outings.
Wander the lanes of Viverols and its castle 14 km away, or visit the Montpeloux volcano and its lake set against a basalt backdrop. La Chaise-Dieu charms with its abbey church, its restored tapestries, its whispering hall and its music festival.
Auvergne local produce with fourme d'Ambert, Saint-Nectaire and truffade.
