What you'll love about this property
Simplicity and conviviality: that's what Gîte Félix offers, with wheelchair access on the ground floor and a large saltwater pool! You'll love its limewashed walls in soft colours, its laid-back atmosphere, its comfort, its well-equipped kitchen, the quality of the beds and its garden with views over the Monts du Forez. Pure relaxation on the agenda! And above all, you'll love what it's built from: pisé (clay earth), which gives the gîte a gentle natural air conditioning that is much appreciated. An unspoilt setting, remarkable for its peace and quiet: a gîte for 9 people, set in one of the buildings of a former Forez farm, renovated without pollutants or allergens. A former Forez farm, the gîte has been restored with respect for its rural architectural character, using natural or organic materials. It is set deep in the countryside, between woods and meadows, in a quiet spot outside the village, 8 km from the A72.
What you'll love about the area
Here we look after Nature (as much as we can) and we don't try to tame it. So it's a little wild, and we like it that way. Don't expect an English lawn: we mow thoughtfully to protect biodiversity. What's more, we love it when a hare sometimes comes to hide (and feed) in the slightly overgrown grass. Here there's no risk of breathing in whiffs of pesticides or herbicides, as we have refused to use them for almost 25 years. So the weeding is done by hand, whenever time allows after polishing the rooms until they gleam like new pennies, making the brioche and bread for breakfast, simmering a delicious meal for our guests, and chatting together with passion and enthusiasm about our dear Mother Earth. Needless to say, the weeding sometimes falls by the wayside: you have to get your priorities right! The Forez is also a land of History and Heritage (see le Forez Pittoresque)
