Less than 30 minutes away are the Château de Carrouges and its 7 centuries of history, UNESCO-listed Alençon lace, and the Gothic cathedral of Sées, whose spires tower over the Orne plain.
Further afield, the Haras national du Pin — the "Versailles of horses" — and Bagnoles-de-l'Orne for a wellness break beside its Belle-Époque lake. Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei, one of the Plus Beaux Villages de France, will delight photographers and walkers. And for cyclists, the Véloscénie Paris–Mont-Saint-Michel runs through the region.
