What you'll love about the area
Pulvérières is in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne. Vulcania, the European park of volcanism, and the Lemptégy volcano, where you go down into the depths of a real volcano, are just 10 minutes away.
The Puy de Dôme, the iconic summit of the UNESCO-listed Chaîne des Puys, can be reached in 25 minutes. Its exceptional panorama at 1465 metres above sea level offers a view of more than 80 volcanoes in a row. Clermont-Ferrand and its black lava stone cathedral are 30 minutes away.
The farm is on the GTMC route, the Grande Traversée du Massif Central by mountain bike, a 1380 km route crossing the Massif Central. An ideal stop for mountain bikers and touring cyclists, with secure parking and a suitable welcome.
The Monts Dore are 1 hr away, with hikes up the Puy de Sancy at 1885m, and mountain lakes. Auvergne PDO cheeses and thermal springs round off a stay in volcanic country.
On request, a visit to a cutlery workshop and Auvergne wine tasting are possible.
